How we install a fence

We take our time on every job, from planning where the fence runs to the last screw.

We'll go through the fence types and colours with you, and weigh up how each one looks against how well it works in your yard. We'll say which costs least and which is the most practical, and suggest Colorbond only when it suits.

  • We plan the layout first

Before we dig, we mark out the fence line around the house, the driveway and the garden beds.

  • We set the posts deep

We dig the post holes deep, because a shallow post is how a fence ends up leaning.

  • We screw everything off properly

Every sheet, rail and cap is screwed off, a fencer's way of saying fastened tight with screws, so nothing rattles loose in the wind.

  • We match the colours

Posts, rails and panels come in the one colour, so the whole fence looks like it belongs together.

What we install around Sunbury

Chain mesh is what we install most, but we take on all of these. Got more than one on the block? List them all on your quote request.

  • Chain mesh fencing

Chain mesh is woven wire fencing, also called chain wire. You'll see it around tennis courts, sheds, work yards and school grounds.

  • Colorbond fencing

Colorbond is steel sheet fencing that arrives already coloured, so there's nothing to paint later. The sheets are solid, which keeps the yard private.

  • Sleeper retaining walls

A retaining wall holds back the higher side of a sloping block. Ours are made of sleepers, which are heavy concrete or timber beams that slot in between posts.

  • Blade fencing

Blade fencing is a row of flat steel or aluminium bars standing on end, with small gaps between them. It's mostly used across front yards.

  • Pool fencing

Glass panels or aluminium fencing around a backyard pool. Tell us which one you're after and we'll price it.

  • Timber paling fencing

Palings are the narrow upright boards that make up a timber fence. Ours are treated pine or hardwood.

  • Farm and rural fencing

Paddock fencing in plain wire or ringlock, which is a wire mesh made to hold stock. Post and rail is another option, with timber rails running between posts.

  • Gates

Driveway gates, plus the narrower pedestrian gates that go across a side path or front path.

  • Fence repairs

Rotten posts, split palings, loose Colorbond sheets and gates that drag on the ground.

Quotes, insurance and warranty

Pricing a fence starts with three things: where it is, what you'd like and the rough length. If you haven't measured yet, that's fine. Leave the length out and we'll sort it with you.

If it's a dividing fence, meaning it's shared with the house next door, we deal with your neighbour and the council.

  • Free, and in writing

Asking for a price costs nothing. The quote is written down, and nothing's booked until you've read it and said yes.

  • We reply the same day

Send us your enquiry and you'll hear back from us the same day.

  • A site measure when it's needed

Some jobs need a closer look first. For those, we come out and measure the fence line before it's priced.

  • We're fully insured

Every job we take on is covered by our insurance.

  • A 3-year workmanship warranty

The warranty runs for three years from the day the fence goes in and covers our workmanship, meaning the way we built it.

  • The old fence goes to the tip

Replacing a fence? We pull the old one down and cart it off to the tip, so there's no pile left in your yard.

Who we install fences for

House blocks, acreage and commercial sites all get quoted the same way.

  • Homes and new estates

Boundary fences, front fences and pool fencing for houses. Building in a new estate? If its design guidelines set the fence style or height, we quote to them.

  • Farms and acreage

Fencing for paddocks that hold sheep, cattle or horses, along with the farm gates that go in them.

  • Businesses and schools

Fencing around factories, warehouses, work yards and school grounds. We can take on big jobs.

  • Other trades when the job needs them

Some jobs call for a welder, a concreter or an electrician. When yours does, we bring one in.
